About
He who wonders learns nothing; He who wanders learns everything!
I have been blessed to experience the people, culture, and wonder of 51 countries and all continenets. It’s been a long strange rich trip to say the least. The common thread that binds all those very diverse countries and people together is my simple curiosity to know the common man’s perspective of life, family, and nature. These people and places are treasures within my memories. Their stories and interactions are apart of me. I have forgotten the names of some of the places and faces. However, the impact, grandeur, and wisdom will never be forgotten. It’s hard to keep it all straight while I continue to satisfy my global curiosity. I mix up names of mountain ranges I trekked over with the names of the places I have begun to research in books.
The journey has always been a solo adventure (Steinbeck wrote “we do not take a trip; a trip takes us) both during my joy of traveling abroad (which is pure joy) and after my departure. At times I haven’t been able to relate to “our world” here in the United States due to my experiences aboard. I call this the other side of the double edged sword of travel. My core group of friends have been able to keep me somewhat grounded. Often I find myself weaving a long yarn of interesting aspects of the people (human architecture) and the lands that they inhabit. This tapestry of my travels is most suitable over a good scotch and fine cigar. Please enjoy as small portion of some of my favorite pictures and stories of recent adventures.
